How We Work
The Link Affiliates Team within ADFI at USQ is actively involved in national and international technical and standards activities, chairing committees, participating in working groups and facilitating Australian engagement. We disseminate knowledge and gather requirements by participating in steering committees and expert groups set up by Australian education and research groups.
Our technical expertise allows us to broker relationships between local e-research and e-learning communities and relevant standards organisations. This enables Australian experts to become directly involved in standards development, with active support and faciliation from our team. We have two models of involving Australian groups in the standards process. The Link Affiliates team can either facilitate the direct participation of Australian experts in the standards process, or undertake the work ourselves in consultation with Australian experts.
By applying our leading edge knowledge of standards and innovative techniques and tools with a commitment to solutions that are flexible, interoperable and provide long-term benefits we are able to identify and analyse opportunities for integrating IT systems and solve real interoperability problems. We work with the community to identify business requirements and translate these into into interoperability requirements. We develop pilot demonstration projects to demonstrate applications of technologies and technical standards.
We regularly collaborate (see Collaboration) with education and research experts while still substantially supported by the Australian government.
